My work is a response to a daily impulse to collect. I feel an urgency to stack, compact, and contain. Observing and reflecting upon micro/macroscopic relationships -like that of a factory or city- encourages me to freeze these things together into a mass of ranging transparency. Be it resin cast bricks, quilted wall hangings, or installation; I am composing small pieces into larger more complex atmospheres. As time passes, perceptions alter; much like my collections in varying stages of decay. Memories degrade or take new meaning. These processes, which result from taking off the street and from wastebaskets, force me to confront nostalgia, compulsions, and my ever-changing perceptions on time and my identity.
